Heh...
I was doing very poorly for a couple weeks. I tried to put how I felt into words but I failed, so here's a vague pictorial representation instead.

Anyways, it has passed, and along with regained motivation to live, I have new motivation for all my personal projects and aspirations which have been stacking up good :). These I hope to work on these in the next half year, roughly in the order of priority:
- Post a series of concise, topical entries rather than these big blabberings that take me forever to write
- Finish going through Ruby manuals and start mocking up my Rails app idea; have at least part of the code done by RailsConf!
- Take on certain misc. design projects
- Refine character sketches for Andrew's manga and and begin on the pages
- Finish coding Becky's site and come up with solutions for her blog and photo galleries
- Consistently nag Weien about writing praise song lyrics and work with him on orchestrating them
- Do astronomy/art project for school
- Redesign BattleSong, port the entries to a better blog-type system
- Draw pics for EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!! (i.e. my loyal blog readers :D) I'll take requests once I get to this!
- Get a host running Ruby and Rails, port my blog to Typo, make a simple template system for the other parts of my site
- Get some kind of CMS running on Mary Kay's site before June, in Ruby if the above item is accomplished
- Finish writing up the first few chapters of candid manga and start thumbnailing
- Begin a long-term digital painting with a full landscape and emphasis on composition rather than character design... I have to gear up for my one matte painting of 2006 ^__^
- Obtain quality fabric paint and stencil T-shirts for myself :D~
- Create simple posting form for the garlic thing... I still have 60+ people I'm supposed to add to the members list :P. I'm not sure why I thought this was a worthwhile thing on which to spend my time 2 years ago, lol
- Redesign my room
And here are some things I just want to do.
- Go to DT Nville with Weien and some of the other people people I've been really wanting to see again :). Hopefully it'll be a weekly thing once the weather hits the 50's
- Build up digital music library
- Finish getting through my old emails
- Be active on Daily Sketch Group -.-
- Visit Chicago museums with Weien (and anyone else who thinks that sounds like fun ^__^?)
- Permanently switch from my Yahoo account to my Gmail account
- Attempt to gain permission from the IBLP director to host a viewing of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe for all my coworkers once the DVD comes out in April
- Get an account on Wikipedia and begin seriously editing
- Figure out what to do with my hair
- Go car shopping
I could probably write an entire entry about most of the projects, so let me know if you'd like me to expound on anything. I'm already going to post about Rails though, since that had a lot do do with getting me out of the dumps :D.
Speaking of good things... it must be mentioned that the 343-email devotional program for which we all toiled is finally complete! Daily Success really made me feel like I was part of a team, even though all I did was put the emails live each night, at the very end of the process :). My boss Matt and the webmaster Mary Kay have my eternal respect for all the amazing hard work they put into this.

The official countdown... we really should have made this chain way back at email #1 :)

The three in the middle are actual editions of the book... you might remember my spoof on the first version ^_^?
Weien, oh yes the nun-lady knows me well...
David, I'm trying my best!
Kash, thanks man!
Tara, I miss you!
Shiowei, sankyu muchly.
Ben, hehe yep.
Cynthia, I guess 2006 has been decent so far ^^
Ryan, thanks a ton and I will definitely keep thinking! (with my own brain, even :)
siao.CN, right, it's her breath because it's cold; she's not smoking. What I called a Bible comic in the last post is just me drawing pictures to better visualize what I was reading in the Bible ^^.
bows
Hello, I’m Carley Anderson, nice to meet you. :) To ease your mind, I’ll let you know I’m not a random dork who randomly found your blog (randomly): I met Weien at ITC for String Workshops in 2004 and 2005…he kindly pointed me to your blog.
Thus far I’ve enjoyed scrounging around in some of the older posts (and, obviously, the more current ones, as well)…admiring from afar…thought I’d let you know you now have another reader (aka lurker, snoop, whatever…). :D
It’s very neat that you worked on the Daily Success stuff…my family and I [just left a church we had been attending nine years (not easy) and] are using the Daily Success e-mails for part of our home-churching.
previews comment Woe is me. That was randomly random. Sorry about that. gives up in disgust with the English language Anyway…ciao!
Following the example of she that had gone before him, the man bows stiffly, in a sort of formal Japanese half-lean. A voice within whispers to him that he should have handled the sociality with a good deal more grandness (possibly a pirouette followed by a one-knee, one-leg-back dramatic prostration complete with the right hand drawing a curlicue in the air), to which he sets his jaw and—disturbingly—susurrates something along the lines of:
Henya Ho, Sprechtla No Shaloma Yes, zeVords Acquiesce!
All this but four feet from the throne of The Violist. And, as a move of further coarseness, he lifts his chin in a silent, odorous snarl, which seems to say, in a reluctant way, “Hello there!” It is at this time that she has her first good look at the visitor. Tall, neatly-dressed, and with his pepper-blond hair slicked back, he seemed to fit the mold of someone she generally wouldn’t mind speaking to. That is, he would be, if it weren’t for the other words that spin through her head as she evaluates him: big belt buckle, balled-up fists, purplish-green eyes, twitchy right shoulder, and sickly-red pouty lips that seem built to say things like “BAM!” often in casual conversation. The Violist sighs, and motions for him to speak his case.
He opens his mouth, and all at once, she leans backwards. Garlic!
The rest is history. He was the Leader of the Allium Unit, Clove division, and was incensed to find that he and his were not yet on the members list of what he called, “The Garlic Adoptitionists.” Sigh, I know, I’m busy, says she. This is an outrage, says he. I know, I know, it’s on the list, she replies. It’s probably the last thing on there, I bet, he says. In fact, she begins. Or maybe second to last, to something that’s humanly impossible, he contests, cutting her off. Silence. Got me there, she says finally, but defiantly.
It was when he threatened to use physical force that things went all wrong—for him. He raised his hands to strike, but she raised one of hers, palm out, and said, “No—you don’t want to do that.” Growling, he had whispered, “Yeah? Who’s gonna stop me?” At this, The Violist smiled, and closed her eyes. Visibly unnerved, the man had dropped his hands, and turned to look around him. There was no army, no police, no bodyguard nearby… just, coming from one corner, the sweet strains of the Bach Siciliano, and leaning on the wall by the door, a completely still, tired-looking woman dressed in crimson. They later said that it was the combination of all of these things that took the man to his knees.
He then stifled a sob before turning his head slightly, as if he were listening for a very faint sigh. And after a moment, he sniffed, and blubbering through his words, cried:
Henya Ho, BangZhu No MeinElplen Where, yi Buon Travers!
And then—bratsche!—he crumpled on the floor, at the feet of The Violist, who hefted a smashed half-size viola over one shoulder. Satisfied, she knelt down and rolled the body away. After all, tomorrow was Bulky Trash Amnesty Day, right? But before doing so, something had caught her eye. It was a slip of paper, tucked only halfway into the man’s left shirt pocket. Ominously, she drew it out and unfolded it. And as she read what was inside, the violin solo coming from the corner reached the climax of the piece, and her eyes widened…

A couple random quotes:
Poli Sci Professor: By the way, have I brought in that book—“Superpatriotism”—in yet? Student: Yeah, like once a week.
I miss you too. Do you plan on going to Acen this year? Oh, Oh! I have to call you about a completely wonderfierous event that I stumbled upon. Are you free on May 27?
The picture is breathtaking, I especially like the use of reddish in a non-traditional way. (ie not depicting fiery anger, zeal etc.)
It sounds like you’re very busy, I’ll leave you be.
He harrumphed. “What do you mean, she’ll never update? Why, the very fabric of time will ripen if you wait long enough!”
She sniffed dryly. “Well, I never said never…”
The first man gabbled loudly. “Some people actually beg to differ, you know. In order to, and suchlike… but really, sometimes I wonder if uniqueness really is worth all that much anyway.”
The other man muttered his reply. Something about “schools, nowadays.”
The first looked at his gossip-mate sharply. “You stole that line from C.S., didn’t you.” Note, it wasn’t really a question. The first man wasn’t one to do questions.
I formally propose that we call postponing something “pulling a vic”.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you don’t visit this site very often.
