"If the Lord wills, tomorrow I will live, and celebrate Truth Day. By God's grace, I plan to tell the truth all day long." – David Rees
^ Rarely do I find a blog entry that means so much to me!!
Here's for everybody who, like me, can't stand practical jokes and tricks.
I love truth. I hate... being tricked. You could say I'm the gullible type, as I naturally take everybody and everything seriously, too seriously at times, and sometimes it hurts, and sometimes I end up with loads of resentment, bottled up with no where to go.
Yes, I think there is an opposite vice to making jokes that hurt people. It is being so serious, you hurt people (and yourself). Many times, it is easy for one to border on, say, condemnation -- responding to some harmful joke in an unloving way. Or maybe intolerance, like getting too worked up about it when you know wasn't meant to harm you. Or unforgiveness, like keeping it in the back of your mind so you can... steep in bitterness?
The answer to this, as with all things, is to be heaven-minded. There is a time to tell somebody to stop hurting you, and there is a time to let it pass, but either way, as a Christian you NEED to have your mind set on things above so that you can have a rightful, Christ-like attitude.
"For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God... You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips." - Col 3:3, 7-8.
Definately something I need to work on =). On the lighter side, I present this week's latest artistic endeavors: True Luff and a long-due spoof on Daily Success XD yay~
Happy Truth Day, peeps!

> >Sorry bout that hon… Me give up blogging? NEVAR! XD; That was actually a last minute prank since April Fool’s Day kind of took me by surprise.
But hey, it’s cool that you dislike the pranks. ^^; I’m just evil like that, taking sadistic amusement from other people’s misery…. but would you believe I had the opposite effect on two of my friends? They were like, "YAAAAAAY!!! … wait. the date. Oh man. Dang. This SUCKS." XDDD
<3 Later hon.
Ah… April Fool’s—or is it "fools’"? As David pointed out, it seems that fools are in the eye of the…
Must resist the power of the cliché. Anyway, perhaps your readers will find it interesting that the part of your Chinese name that is given to you—Wang Wei Zhen (the Zhen part)—means "Truth" (in Chinese, as opposed to in French).
But I find it interesting that I often fear getting taken too seriously. Whenever I try to say something… redemptive, and indeed serious, halfway through it I realize that they’re probably not going to take me seriously, so I smile awkwardly so that they’ll take it relatively lightly, only to find them nodding solemnly and yes, taking me quite seriously! Woe is me!
For all those who pinch on St. Patricks, who make fun of the presidents or MLK on their respective days, who go trick or treating for Halloween (er…), and who prank on April 1st or any day…
I will… kekeke… pay you a visit on your birthday. Nothing like a good… -omen-.

Victoria, may you, like the ruler of proverbs, winnow out all evil with your eyes, seeing the truth in everything, whether meant seriously or not. Only remember that some of us—and we are many—wish only to make you smile. Though some of us do it relatively poorly. purses mouth irately
Practical jokes have never been a huge part of my life. I don’t think I’ve done one recently, or have had one done on me recently either.
You’re right about making sure to be "heaven-minded." That’s the best standard to have when determining whether something is proper or not.
